This exciting and visible Senior Principal Applications Engineering role based at our Bracknell, UK Semiconductor Product Design Centre will challenge your technical and people skills to deliver the next generation of automotive CMOS image sensors into the vehicles of the future. Our Bracknell, UK Design Centre with its attractive new office and laboratories has a family-friendly culture and is supported by flexible working arrangements and a people-first semiconductor design environment.
As an Automotive Imaging Applications Engineer, you will be joining a world-class team of customer-facing, viewing and machine vision product experts to:
1. Provide technical leadership to customers who integrate image sensor and system-on-chip solutions into their products, including automotive safety systems and automotive viewing applications.
2. Validate image quality and optimize imaging performance for automotive camera designs, camera platform solutions, and reference camera module designs.
3. Support global Field Applications Teams to facilitate our customers’ product development activities.
4. Work with cross-functional product leadership teams to deliver a comprehensive set of technical documents including application notes and data sheets.
Candidates might be best equipped for this role if they have:
1. A good first degree covering electrical engineering or computer engineering.
2. Prior experience in camera system, semiconductor, or CMOS image sensor design.
3. Familiarity with automotive imaging systems, image processing algorithms, modules, and safety standards.
4. Experience using image capture and analysis tools.
5. Comfort with imaging concepts such as colour temperature, dark current, fixed pattern and temporal noise and how they impact image quality and/or tuning.
6. Excellent presentation skills, able to communicate complex technical concepts at an appropriate level for the audience.
7. Some coding ability, e.g., Python, C++, Matlab.
8. Passion for imaging, videography, and camera technology.
