Description
The role is responsible for the business and functional solution design, technical analysis of FNZ’s platform capabilities, business processes analysis and end to end testing (including supporting client UAT).
They will work both independently and within a client aligned team to examine existing IT systems and business models, analyse requirements (both business and technical) and to decompose these into user stories and supporting solution design with limited assistance from experienced Analyst Testers. These activities will likely include interaction with and management of stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure that solution designs meet clients’ requirements. The Analyst Tester is also required to work closely and proactively with Analyst Developers to implement quality and future proof functionality.
The Analyst Tester – Entry level will need to be proactive, detail-oriented, good listener, quick learner and organised to rapidly gain knowledge of FNZ platform capabilities, FNZ processes and procedures and understanding of assigned functional areas of the FNZ platform to deliver on time their assigned task. The Analyst Tester – Entry level will need to learn about, apply and demonstrate end to end ownership in all aspects of analysis/testing from the more technical testing approaches including test automation, database manipulation and xml injection testing to test design, functional specification testing and supporting UAT.
There is an expectation that the Analyst Tester – Entry level will learn about our application, our business and the industry we operate in as well the range of test tools and methodologies we use to support our business.
They will have to proactively ensure they use provided materials, internal and external resources and the available support systems (line manager, assigned buddy, experienced colleagues) to increase their knowledge and skills.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Analysis:
1. Learn how to and develop and maintain a fair knowledge of the platform functionality and business processes related to their nominated functional area under limited guidance.
2. Discuss with Solution Consultants, SMEs, Senior Analyst Testers or Analyst Tester Leads to understand the features that make up the solution from the end user perspective and document the solution design accurately with limited guidance after having learned how to.
3. Learn how to and produce Systems artefacts as per FNZ SDLC and following the best practices and guidelines.
4. Author user stories that make up the assigned feature(s) using the correct business outcome driven syntax.
5. Learn how to and then work with Analyst Developers and Delivery/Project Managers to ensure business requirements are met and solutions are kept up to date.
6. Learn how and then ensure that any new business artefacts adhere to procedural and regulatory compliance requirements.
7. Learn how to and then functionally review build artefacts for functional areas assigned.
8. Interact with the S&S, Operations functions and other stakeholders as required throughout the delivery lifecycle and post-implementation.
Test Design & Preparation:
9. Ensure acceptance criteria for each story is defined and covers both positive and negative testing scenarios using correct BDD syntax to feed into automation tests.
10. Write/Produce artefacts to support testing activities such as Test Designs, Test Matrices, Test Cases, Test Scripts and Behavioural Models.
Test execution and Defect Management:
11. Learn how to and perform structured and context-driven (formal /ad-hoc) system, system integration and regression testing as required.
12. Learn how to and then ensure the changes developed are to an acceptable standard by reviewing solutions, conducting regular functional reviews and testing the changes end to end once the feature is available.
13. Assist with user acceptance testing if required.
14. Assist with Client support activities, supporting client UAT
15. Use internal defect tracking and test case management system(s) to document test cases, record defects and record test case execution results.
16. Raise, validate and re-test defects.
17. Participate in defect triage meetings as directed.
Collaboration / Communication:
18. Provide regular and timely updates to the Delivery Manager on progress to plan as well as key risk and issues.
19. Work with the delivery teams both internally and externally (client side).
20. Collaborate with other analysts to share knowledge, best practices, useful technology, and opportunities for cross-project solutions.
21. Maintain high standards regarding written and verbal communication to ensure that information is clearly and concisely documented and appropriately disseminated.

Experience required
23. Bachelor or Master or equivalent.
24. Excellent communication skills.
25. Good analytical thinking, problem solving and organisational skills that can be demonstrated through examples from academic or extra-curricular activities.
26. Understanding of financial markets and key aspects of software delivery.
