Complex PTSD Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join our friendly CPTSD team, located within the wider Enfield Integrated Core Teams. Enfield is a diverse borough, and we pride ourselves on offering specialist, evidence-based therapy to clients presenting with complex PTSD. We are a phase-based service, offering a PTSD Psychoeducation and Symptom Management group (in various languages) as well as individual trauma-focused therapies such as Trauma-focused CBT, NET, and EMDR. We welcome applicants trained and experienced in these modalities and will support further training where needed. Specialist EMDR and CFT supervision is provided by experienced external supervisors.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for:
1. Providing high-quality trauma-informed assessments and therapies, including psychological assessments, psychoeducation, stabilization groups, and evidence-based trauma-focused therapies.
2. Collaborating closely with other CPTSD colleagues, co-facilitating groups, contributing to team meetings and formulations, and offering informal peer support and supervision where appropriate.
3. Working as part of both the CPTSD Pathway and the wider Core team, adding trauma-informed perspectives to team formulations and meetings.
4. Supervising doctoral trainees, assistant psychologists, and other junior staff as appropriate.
5. Providing training, supervision, and support to other team members delivering psychologically based care and treatment.
6. Working autonomously within professional guidelines and ensuring systematic governance of psychological practice within the team.

Job responsibilities
The duties include:
1. Ensuring systematic delivery of trauma-informed assessments and therapies.
2. Collaborating with CPTSD colleagues and contributing to team meetings and formulations.
3. Providing psychological assessment, treatment, and consultation to clients and non-psychologist colleagues.
4. Supervising psychological assessments and therapies by trainees and junior staff.
5. Training, supervising, and supporting team members providing psychological care.
6. Working autonomously within professional guidelines and ensuring clinical governance.
7. Engaging in research and audit activities, contributing to policy and service development.
Person Specification
Training & Qualifications
* Doctoral level training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, including two or more therapies and lifespan developmental psychology, accredited by BPS.
* Registration with the HCPC as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (or pending accreditation).
* Experience in trauma-focused therapies such as Trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, and Narrative Exposure Therapy.
* Demonstrated passion for trauma work through personal statement and career choices.
Experience
* Experience in specialist psychological assessment and treatment across care settings, including complex PTSD cases.
* Experience working with diverse client groups, including those with histories of torture, domestic violence, or childhood abuse/neglect.
* Experience working with refugee and asylum-seeking populations, including using interpreters.
Knowledge and Skills
* Skills in complex psychological assessment, intervention, and management.
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with clients, families, and colleagues.
* Ability to speak a second language (e.g., Turkish) is desirable.
* High-level knowledge of at least two psychological therapies.
Other
* Ability to teach and train using multimedia materials.
* Knowledge of clinical governance mechanisms.
* Personal experience of mental health issues or receiving therapy.
* Experience working in a multicultural environment.

Salary: £51,883 to £58,544 per annum, inclusive of Outer London HCAS.
