The role of Business Systems Analyst offers an exciting and diverse array of challenges as well as excellent opportunities for personal development.
As a Business Systems Analyst, your role will be to support the development and maintenance of the SMART metering systems (Energy IP, SDIF, IOT). You will be expected to manage and resolve system issues working with third party suppliers whilst promoting and supporting analytical decision making across the wider business.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Manage requirements capture and documentation.
2. Work on projects within the SDIF area looking after third party delivery, testing and stakeholder management.
3. Assist in sourcing, accessing and manipulating data from SMART systems.
4. Manage incidents and problem tickets ensuring SLAs are met with third party suppliers.
5. Assist with advanced analytics on data using statistical, descriptive and machine learning techniques.
6. Collaborate in development cycles as part of software delivery within an agile framework working closely with UKIT and the COE and key stakeholders.
7. Drive business benefit through proactive solution identification.
8. Effectively present outcomes to stakeholders and manage expectations.
The successful candidate will be collaborating with business stakeholders to understand business problems and asking the right questions from which to deliver solutions.
What you’ll bring:
1. Experience in systems/business analysis.
2. Experience of managing relationships across functions and third party providers.
3. Experience in data presentation/visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI).
4. Experience in data query languages, particularly SQL, Python, R.
5. Planning and Project Management including timelines, risks and dependencies and resource planning of various business-wide projects.
6. Stakeholder engagement/management.
7. Competent reporting, presentation and self-projection skills.
8. SMART Metering experience (nice to have).
