An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practical and hands-on individual to become part of a dedicated and welcoming team responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds of a prestigious family-owned estate. The client is seeking a practical, detail-oriented Handywoman or Handyman with a proactive mindset. While experience in maintenance, repairs, or DIY is an advantage, the key qualities they value are a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work well within a team.
The successful candidate will take on a range of maintenance and repair tasks, helping to keep the estate in excellent condition. This will involve minor repairs, general upkeep, and assisting with improvements across the estate. No two days will be the same, and the role offers the chance to work across different areas, from maintaining interiors and outdoor spaces to ensuring everything is in good working order for residents. While some tasks will be independent, the Handywoman or Handyman will also collaborate with the wider estate team and work alongside external contractors when necessary. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with their hands, and contributing to the smooth running of a beautiful property.
In addition to maintenance tasks, the Handywoman or Handyman will focus on preserving the estate’s overall appearance, ensuring all spaces are clean, well-kept, and inviting. This includes setting up for occasional events, maintaining pathways and outdoor furniture, and assisting with seasonal upkeep. It is well suited to someone who enjoys staying active and takes pride in delivering high standards of care and presentation.
The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable, and confident in handling a variety of tasks, whether independently or collaboratively. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves working closely with colleagues, contractors, and occasionally residents. The Handywoman or Handyman role is a varied and rewarding role that plays a key part in ensuring the estate remains a well-maintained and beautifully presented environment.
You will be joining a professional yet friendly and supportive maintenance team, which includes engineers, decorators, and fellow Handy Persons. The team values high-quality workmanship, collaboration, and a positive working environment.
This is a full-time position, with working hours from 08:00 to 17:00. Flexibility is essential during the summer months and when the client is in residence. Annual leave entitlement is 28 days, with no additional entitlement to public holidays. The salary offered is up to £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. The candidate must hold a clean UK driving licence and be willing to work across multiple sites as needed.
An enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by the employer, and the signing of a Non-Disclosure Agreement are required as part of the employment terms.
