We are recruiting for a Senior Pharmacy Assistant who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Main duties of the job
1. Assist the leadership and day to day running of Pharmacy stores, Distribution
2. Assist in the training of Pharmacy personnel within the designated areas
3. Ensure the smooth daily running of the Stores, Distribution areas including organising workload, daily rotas and ad hoc queries
4. Provide advice and support for pharmacy staff within the department and hospital staff

Job responsibilities
1. Supervise staff within the Pharmacy department
2. Investigate, follow-up and record any discrepancies with stock
3. Prioritise workload within the department
4. Participate in the supply of stock medication via the ward top up service. Liaise with relevant ward pharmacists and ward staff to provide an effective and efficient service
5. Ensure the storage of the products complies with temperature and cleanliness standards and meets health and safety requirements and the requirements of our wholesale dealers license
6. Manage the receipt and storage of medicines in the robot and ensure all robot ARX problems are resolved in a timely manner or referred to the stores manager
7. Ensure that any to-follow or out of stock issues are promptly and accurately reported to the procurement manager
8. Ensure all stock is used in rotation
9. Ensure that the equipment used in storing and handling pharmaceutical products is in good operational condition and report on such equipment
Person Specification
Qualifications
* A minimum requirement of NVQ/QCF Level 2 in pharmacy services or equivalent
Knowledge
* Knowledge of MHRA wholesaler requirements
* Understanding of the principles of stock maintenance
Experience
* Experience in an environment where stock delivery and distribution is practised
* Previous experience in hospital or community pharmacy
* Solid foundation of experience within pharmacy and ward environments
