Malin Marine Consultants, part of the Malin Group, have an exciting opportunity for a Summer Internship. We are an engineering consultancy specialising in early stage design development, feasibility studies and R&D in the commercial marine, renewables and defence. As part of the Summer Internship, you will have the opportunity to get involved in running live projects, new technology development, 3D printing and managing project budgets. You will be working as a Summer Intern (Engineering) to gain experience in the role whilst you are completing your studies. You will work on real-world projects, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to our mission of delivering innovative solutions. Your key responsibilities in this role will be: Assist in the design, development, and implementation of engineering projects, with a particular focus on data processing and analytics Develop and maintain documentation of methodologies, processes, and findings. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of innovative solutions Conduct research and stay updated on industry trends and best practices Providing regular updates on your work to your line manager Ensuring that client deliverables and company QA requirements are met at all times Ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are followed at all times Any other tasks or duties outside your normal work as the Company may reasonably require Qualifications and Experience Requirements Working towards a degree BEng or higher in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or a relevant field Preferred Skills and Experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL. Familiarity with data visuali s ation tools is a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Remuneration for this position will be the Scottish national living wage.
