We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Financial Accountant to join our high performing team. REPORTING TO: Financial Controller LOCATION: Based in Newry, Co. Down CONTRACT TYPE: FULL-TIME, PERMANENT HOURS: Monday – Friday 40 hours per week with early finish on Fridays Role Responsibilities § Lead the preparation of monthly and annual accounts, accruals and prepayments, journal entries & month end reconciliations. § Consolidate financial reports from various departments and group entities. § Analyse and comment on financial performance, including variance analysis and KPIs. § Ensure compliance by preparing and submitting VAT and RCT returns. § Support budgeting and forecasting with financial analysis and insights. § Lead year-end audits, collaborating with auditors and providing necessary documentation. § Create and apply financial reporting policies and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy. § Mentor and develop junior finance team members. § Identify and drive process improvements using technology and best practices. § Perform other duties as required. § The Candidate Qualifications & Experience: § A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required. § A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial reporting or senior accounting role. § Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. § Experience using ERP’s and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Skills & Attributes: § Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. § Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. § Effective communication and interpersonal skills. § Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
