We’re looking for someone who loves being outdoors and inspiring young people to love the outdoors too, to be our new Senior Instructor at Scout Adventures Fordell Firs.
You will know what it takes to deliver a first-class customer experience. You must be friendly, approachable and have an outstanding work ethic to keep on top of this fast-moving activity centre.
Based just outside of Dunfermline, Fife and operating since 1946, Fordell Firs is a fully AALA licensed Centre. We have indoor accommodation for 67, a tented village for 48 and camping for more than 800 in a mix of woodland and grass areas over 48 acres.
We offer a wide range of on-site adventurous activities, with additional activities at Lochore. As well as providing a wide range of programmes and events to our members, our centre provides day visit and residential programmes for schools and has a strong reputation for working with groups and charities catering for young people with additional needs.
About the role
As an Instructor at Scout Adventures Fordell Firs, you'll know what it takes to deliver a first-class customer experience. Your role will include but not be limited to providing high-quality outdoor activity sessions in line with the centre’s operating procedures and coordinating programme activities across our centre. You'll lead in the development of staff members and volunteers, providing mentoring, training and support for personal development to help uphold the quality and standards within delivery.
You'll also lead in specific projects; these could include Duke of Edinburgh business, procurement, product development, quality control, event management, etc.
We're looking for someone with a wide range of activity instruction experience including Roped activities (ideally SPA, RCI, ERCA qualification). Other NGB qualifications in archery, bushcraft, water sports will be beneficial.
Experience in undertaking and reviewing risk assessments, operating procedures and ensuring health and safety requirements are adhered to as well as supporting a variety of customer needs and preferences is necessary.
