SENIOR HOTEL GENERAL MANAGER
We’re looking for a General Manager to join our brand-new opening, The Sutherland Inn, Muxton, Telford. The successful candidate will have full accountability and responsibility for leading a brand-new country pub, grill and hotel and its team to success.
The Grill Pub Co have acquired the former Whitehouse Hotel and have totally transformed the interior and exterior into a modern country pub, grill and hotel – similar to our existing Grill Pub Co venues. Now open and once fully completed, our 1 Million pound investment and commitment to this amazing building and venue will require a forward thinking and dynamic senior General Manager to guide the team to new heights in hospitality, service and standards. As this a new opening, we’re looking for a positive, passionate and resilient General Manager who is able to successfully support with managing the challenges of a new opening.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our General Manager will oversee all aspects of our upmarket grill restaurant, cocktail bar and 27-bedroom hotel space, ensuring our diners, drinkers and stayers are looked after at all times.
Our guest journey is so important to us and therefore, we're looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude, committed to ensuring our team provides a 5* experience.
You will need a sound financial underpinning of budgets and P&L, with real experience of delivering on set financial targets. You will be responsible for £1m+ turnover operation, so you will need previous experience of leading teams to deliver key set standards and financial targets.
Reporting in directly to our senior operations team, you'll need to be confident, assertive and able to confidently run a high achieving operation and have a sound knowledge of food and beverage operations with a real focus on the customer experience.

* Currently (or has been) a General Manager of a successful Hotel, bar and restaurant
* Experienced in kitchen understanding and operations and is able to support the kitchen team as and when necessary
* A commercially aware leader who ensures your team delivers exceptional service and food
* Passionate about people, cares about their guests and their team, creating a positive place to be
* Constantly inspiring their team to go the extra mile for our guests keeping expectations and standards high
* Able to recognise succession for a strong talent pipeline and are proactive in developing their people
* Strong at maintaining their venue, ensuring it is always clean, safe and welcoming for the benefit of their team and guests
* Confident in coaching and developing a large team to be the best they can be
* Able to stay calm and lead their team to success in a high paced service
WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN…
* Manage the recruitment, induction and onboarding of any new team members
* Push the team and the business forward with the support of the Head Chef
* Demonstrate leadership with a hands-on approach in both front and back of house, effective communication, engaging and motivating your team
* Manage stock control and food and beverage margins
* Manage EHO, Health and Safety and routine brand audits to a high standard
* Ensure the team are continually given feedback and performance manage where appropriate
* Deliver to specification and brand standards both front and back of house
* Have an eye for detail and thrive in a high volume fast paced environment
* Show passion for the brand, visible when ensuring your team are knowledgeable and confident
* Confidently report into the senior operations team and present weekly / monthly trading reviews and reports

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
