Role Description: Reporting to the Academy Director and PDP Lead Phase Coach the successful candidate will lead and deliver the analysis provision for the U21’s at Charlton Athletic as well as support the overall Analysis provision across the Academy at all ages. Key Responsibilities: Record all Under 21 training sessions for feedback on player and coach performance, maintaining training databases for best practice. Arrange provision of the Under 21 opposition footage and provide detailed pre-match video presentations outlining oppositions style of play, strengths and weaknesses in all phases of the game. Record and live code all home and away U21 matches. Providing half time video feedback to coaches and players. Upload matches to HUDL’s video sharing platform, creating individual player clips aligned with development plans and goal setting. Create statistical reports and conduct trend analysis aligned with Charlton’s principles of play. Support individual development plans using video and statistical methods. Deliver a variety of video analysis sessions to individuals, units and the team. Support the maintenance and development of a best practice video library for player development. Produce video content to support the Scholar Education Programme and multi-disciplinary team Support the Head of Academy analysis with the management of Analysis provisions for the Foundation Phase and Youth Development Phase Show a desire to undertake all reasonable training, learning and development activity designed to support you in your role. Education/Qualifications/Training: Previous experience working as a performance analyst within a professional football club (E) Sports Science Degree (BSc,BA) or related (E) Knowledge of coding software - SportsCode, Studio, Wyscout, HUDL (E) Various video techniques to record training and games (E) Competent use of apple mac based software - Keynote, iMovie. (D) High organisation skills to be able to prioritise workload effectively under pressure (E) Ability to take initiative as well as work as part of a team (E) Be trustworthy and adhere to clubs code of conduct and ethics (E) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - liaising with coaches, players and peers (E) Willingness to learn and develop as an analyst (E) MSc degree in Sports Performance Analysis (D) Coaching qualifications or working towards them (D) A detailed technical and tactical understanding of Football (D) Good presentation skills (D) Educated to degree level (D); FA Safeguarding Certificate (E); Enhanced DBS Certificate (E); Abilities/Skills/Knowledge: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (E); Proficient with Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint (E); Effective organisational skills (E); Actively cooperate and communicate with others, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration (E); Positive about achieving Club, departmental and individual success (E).
