About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to join our Transactional Shared Service Centre at Waterside Head Office in Blackburn. Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, you will play a key role in transforming the finance department as EG Group continues its growth. You will manage customer accounts to maximise cash collection, minimise risk, and exceed KPIs while ensuring all debts are collected according to the company’s policies and payment terms. The role is ideal for an ambitious individual with a passion for Finance & Credit Management. There is also an opportunity for further development through professional qualifications, such as AAT or ACCA, sponsored by EG Group. What you’ll be doing: Ensure a proactive approach to collecting outstanding debt to meet collection targets. Maintain accurate records of chasing and payment promises. Take guidance from your team leader to effectively deal with issues. Assist with the workload of other team members as required. Drive continuous improvement in the number of days debts remain overdue. Remove non-value-added tasks from day-to-day activities. Manage and monitor new customer accounts, setting and controlling credit limits. Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal colleagues. Manage your own portfolio of accounts and ensure debts are collected in line with company policy. Timely escalation of issues where appropriate. Work collaboratively with operational teams across the Group. Provide assistance to managers on ad hoc projects. Present and communicate to key stakeholders effectively. This list is not exhaustive and may be added to or amended from time to time. What we’re looking for: Experience in Credit Control/Accounts Receivable is preferred but not essential. Experience using accounting software is preferred but not essential. Strong working knowledge of MS Excel is preferred but not essential. Proactive and ambitious with the ability to manage and prioritise workload. Excellent time management and organisational skills. Ability to work well independently or as part of a team. Fluency in French or German is preferred but not essential.
