The Deputy Lead Nurse Community Services will fulfil the role specification of the Community Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care and undertake the additional leadership responsibilities as outlined below. This role is primarily office based undertaking community visits where necessary. Core to this post is the ability to role model and ensure our core competencies are reflected throughout the team. As Deputy Lead Nurse you will be required to provide a positive approach to change management and demonstrate resilience in leadership. You will also be required to play an active part in the delivery of the Clinical Strategy and hold insight and creativity as additional skills. The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS),within the community team, is a specialist practitioner with extensive knowledge, skills and competency to manage a caseload of patients with advanced, progressive life limiting disease. The CNS will undertake the holistic assessment, planning and delivery of a consistently high standard of specialist palliative and supportive care in accordance with the hospice policy, procedures and standards. The CNS will establish effective working relationships with wider multi-disciplinary teams and act as a resource for professionals and non- professionals involved in palliative care within the community.
