We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant Level 4 SEN - Safeguarding and Attendance to join our fantastic team at Pear Tree High School
This is a Grade 6, permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £27,623 and the full time equivalent is £32,115.
We’re looking for:
We are seeking experienced and qualified Teaching Assistant Level 4 to specialise in Safeguarding and Attendance by monitoring student wellbeing, identifying concerns, and working with staff and families to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
You will need NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience, a good working knowledge of child development and learning and excellent numeracy and literacy skills. You must also demonstrate awareness and application of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety and security, confidentiality and data protection. A driving licence and access to vehicle is also required for this role
Main purpose of the job:
As Teaching Assistant Level 4 (Safeguarding & Attendance) you will be supported by teaching staff to ensure a positive, safe and structured learning environment for all pupils. You will be a key member of the school’s support team and contribute to carrying out support for pupils, coordinating referrals to social care, attending and contributing reports for relevant meetings and keeping careful records of actions.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Support safeguarding and attendance by monitoring student wellbeing and identifying concerns.
* Respond in a timely manner to safeguarding concerns to ensure pupils are kept safe from harm.
* Family liaison - build strong relationships between school and families, providing support, guidance, and interventions to improve student well-being, attendance, and engagement in education
* Assist in improving attendance through targeted interventions and engagement strategies.
* Driving is an essential requirement as home visits may be required for some families.
