The Suffolk Adults Eating Disorders Service (AED) has recently undergone an exciting transformation with a new Clinical model providing NICE Concordant treatment to adults with a diagnosis of an eating disorder. As part of this transformation, we are proud that the AED team won Clinical Team of the year within NSFT and were also shortlisted for the national GP awards for our four-step medical monitoring model.
We are therefore excited to be looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Senior CBT Therapist accredited with BABCP, who has specialist skills working with adults with a diagnosis of an eating disorder, to join us and be part of our continuing development as a team. We welcome applications from those who are creative, flexible, and resourceful.
As the successful candidate, you will be a valued member of the supportive multi-disciplinary team based in Suffolk and working across both Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. As a senior CBT therapist, you will provide clinical supervision, training, and consultation to other practitioners in the team and wider eating disorders service line, undertake service evaluation, audit, and research, and provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions including CBT-ED and MANTRA.
Main duties of the job
This post holder will support our multi-disciplinary team to complete assessments and deliver individual and group work within community settings. This role provides an opportunity for the development of skills and expertise in a supportive multi-disciplinary team.
You will be supported within the team by senior clinicians and be part of the senior leadership team, working closely with other eating disorder specialists. Clinical supervision and professional leadership will be provided. There are excellent opportunities for professional development within the team through supervision, training, team CPD, and wider Specialist Services and Trust events.
To provide a qualified, high-quality specialist psychology service to individuals, carers, families, and groups, within and across teams, in line with best evidence-based practice and trust care pathways.
To provide an active contribution to the service development of the AEDS pathway. To be responsible for holding and managing a therapy caseload and to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of your workload and the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients, within the bounds of the service operational policy. To use analytical and judgment skills and be responsible for taking clinical management decisions in complex clinical issues.
