Yard Area Manager, Supply Chain/Transportation Management
Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business makes sure we fulfill and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers get their items on time. As an Area Manager, you’ll ensure your site is running as smoothly as it should to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that helps keep our operations safe, efficient, and of high quality while taking on a number of projects across our network to drive productivity.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing.
2. Analyze and implement changes to keep quality and productivity at a consistently high level.
3. Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and increase quality of service for customers within your area of responsibility.
4. Analyze shift performance against relevant business objectives and implement actions to improve our operational excellence.
5. Work collaboratively with management-level colleagues to standardize shift practices.
6. Ability to work some weekend shifts as needed (this team provides tactical support to Amazon’s fulfillment network 7 days/week).
A day in the life:
You’ll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, ensuring it is as productive as it can be. Your main focus will be to own and drive a culture of safety and uphold quality and shift performance standards. You’ll also oversee process improvements within your area and drive implementation. A typical day is varied, including everything from routine team management and daily operational responsibilities to process improvement and wide-scale operational contingency tasks. You’ll also be a role model and mentor to new managers.

Minimum Requirements:
1. A degree.
2. Relevant experience in people management.
3. Relevant experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
4. Relevant experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
5. Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language.
Preferred qualifications:
1. Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
2. Experience working in another logistics environment.
3. Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
