The Role:
* Undertake ecological surveys for a variety of protected species and habitats, including bats, reptiles and badgers.
* Assist with report writing for Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) including completing desk studies and collating and analysing survey data.
* Professional liaison with clients and colleagues to organise surveys.
* Undertaking Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) roles.
* Opportunities to assist with the Environmental Consultancy department including Nutrient Balance Assessments and shadow Habitat Regulations Assessments.
* 37.5hrs per week
* Computer and survey equipment will be provided, including all necessary Personal Protective Equipment
* Temporary contract (6 months- April to October)
Requirements:
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Full driving licence.
* Previous report writing/preparation experience.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
* Previous experience of undertaking protected species surveys (bats in particular).
Desirable:
* Previous experience of analysing bat sound files.
* Relevant degree in Ecology or similar.
* Previous experience within an ecological consultancy.
* Experience with QGIS/ AutoCAD.
* CIEEM membership or be eligible for membership.
* Protected species licences.
