Job Purpose
The End User Hardware Asset Manager is responsible for leadership and management of the Hardware Asset Management (HAM) team. The Hardware Asset Manager will lead the planning, budgeting, procurement, and management throughout the lifecycle of all TechnipFMC IDS provided end user hardware devices including laptops, desktops, monitors, docks, mobile devices, reprographics, and other peripherals from procurement to disposal.
HAM lifecycle includes tracking, monitoring, and maintaining accurate records of hardware assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policy. Key to the role is ensuring effective inventory management, tracking, and reporting of all in scope assets, managing cost, reducing risk ensuring an enhanced user experience.
Job Description
Asset Management:
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for tracking the company’s hardware assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Maintenance of source data for PowerBi dashboards
• Ensure that hardware asset management processes are in alignment with ITIL and other industry best practices.
Team Leadership:
• Lead and mentor the end-user hardware asset team.
• Set clear team goals and KPIs and manage team performance through regular reviews and feedback.
Procurement and Inventory:
• Working with the Global Procurement team, oversee the procurement process for all end-user hardware, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware assets and ensure that it is regularly updated.
Deployment and Maintenance:
• Coordinate the deployment of new hardware to end-users and manage the maintenance schedule for existing assets.
• Work closely with the End User support team to resolve hardware-related issues promptly.
Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies regarding hardware assets.
• Prepare and present regular reports on asset status, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Strategic Planning:
• Contribute to the development of the IT department’s strategic planning, particularly regarding hardware asset management and budgeting.
• Eliminating waste and increasing efficiency by optimizing existing hardware asset resources.
• Stay informed about new technology trends and advancements that could impact hardware asset management.
Disposal and Sustainability:
• Manage the disposal of obsolete hardware in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Promote sustainability initiatives within the team and the broader organization, to help IT contribute to the companies ESG targets.
You are meant for this job if:
• In-depth knowledge of hardware asset management principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and other relevant standards.
• Understanding of budgeting and cost management for hardware procurement and maintenance.
• Negotiation skills to secure favourable terms with vendors and suppliers.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans for hardware asset optimisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex inventories and lifecycles.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting for informed decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear policy documentation and team guidance.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Commitment to sustainable practices in hardware disposal and recycling.
