Sewell Wallis are currently working with a nationally operating accountancy firm practice based in Sheffield, who are recruiting a Semi-Senior Accountant. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to take their next steps in their career and will allow them to develop their skills whilst working within a great team.
This role would be suitable for someone with practice experience and relevant qualifications. There is also study support offered for those wanting to pursue further qualifications, and the role would be most suited to someone currently studying.
What will you be doing?
Assisting with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
Maintaining accurate records or Accounts Payable and Receivable ledgers.
Assisting with VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Supporting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Dealing with bank reconciliations ensuring accuracy and addressing any discrepancies.
Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and with audit when required.
Acting as a point of contact for multiple clients, ensuring clarity and addressing any queries.
Any additional ad-hoc accounting tasks as required by senior staff or management.
What skills are we looking for?
Proven experience within practice.
Relevant qualifications (AAT/ACCA/ACA) are desirable.
Strong knowledge of accounting software (such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP) for recording transactions and generating financial reports.
The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, understanding their financial needs and responding to inquiries.
Strong written communication skills to prepare reports and documentation for management or external auditors.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, especially during month-end or year-end closings.What's on offer?
