The successful candidate will:
* Support the Head of Ministerial Visits in leading the DCMS Ministerial Visits team in designing, coordinating and delivering a busy Ministerial visits programme, taking specific ownership of junior Ministers’ visits.
* Proactively build relationships with Policy, Private Office and Comms colleagues to identify visit opportunities and ensure that they align with the Department’s business and communications objectives.
* Support the Visits team’s day-to-day operational planning by taking part in site recces, leading successful on-the-day delivery of visits and events, and taking part in evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.
* Undertake other duties on occasion in line with their role and responsibilities, experience and grade.

Essential requirements:
* Excellent organisational skills and a track record of coordinating projects from start to finish.
* The ability to juggle conflicting demands and to work at pace, often to tight deadlines and under pressure.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of influencing internally and externally to make things happen.
* An understanding of how to maximise communication opportunities in imaginative ways.
Desirable skills:
* Experience of organising high-profile events or Ministerial visits.
* Prior experience of working with Ministers or people in the public eye.
* An understanding of and interest in the political landscape and news agenda.
* Interest in the Department’s policy areas.
