This challenging new acquisition role requires a consultative approach, imagination and the determination to succeed. Based in the UK, but working within the Northern European territory, the Business Development Manager will identify, develop and close new business opportunities for the company’s managed network products and services, across all sectors in this region. Specifically, you will: Find and develop new prospects for managed networks across the region. Generate new business to build WAN/LAN pipeline of customers. Create and close large, complex enterprise deals with new customers. Create innovative 'routes to market' for Hughes Europe products and services. Present Hughes solutions and key benefits compellingly to customers. Maintain and develop multi-level contact with the customer, to Board level. Lead the sales team assigned to a prospect and pull together the related activities. Be driven by weekly and monthly KPIs. Desired Experience, Skills and Attributes With previous experience selling in this region, and an understanding of the telecommunications and networks market, the ideal candidate will also hold the following key skills and attributes: A minimum of five consecutive years' experience in 'new' business sales, selling wide-area networks and local-area networks direct to enterprise in the UK or Northern Europe. Experience in sales of fixed-line terrestrial networks and managed services. Experience of selling into verticals such as retail, construction, hospitality, utilities and private healthcare. Proven history in major corporate account sales (£0.5m deals), ideally within complex solutions sales. Drive to work proactively to create opportunity and penetrate new markets. Comprehension and appreciation of the technical aspects of communications and networks. Excellent presentation skills, and outstanding written and oral communications skills. Possessing a creative and entrepreneurial attitude. Desirable to have experience of selling into verticals such as retail, construction, hospitality, utilities and private healthcare. Desirable to have experience of selling into Pan-European companies. Trained in established sales methodology, such as SPIN, Miller Heiman etc. Willing to travel in Northern Europe as required.
