Directorate Manager for the Directorate ofPharmacy
This exciting role willsit within the Division of Clinical Support and will offer the right individualan opportunity to influence at senior management level and lead recovery,service improvement and the development of future services.
The right candidatewill have previous experience at senior management level and will have theskills to deliver high quality, efficient and effective services withleadership and compassion.
The successfulcandidate will work as part of the Senior Pharmacy Management Team, workingclosely with the Chief Pharmacists and Associate Chief Pharmacists into alarger Divisional Senior Leadership Team structure.
Although this rolewill be initially for the Directorate of Pharmacy, all Directorate Managerposts are filled to deliver for the Trust and you will be employed as aDirectorate Manager who can work into any of the Directorates in the future.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and is required to demonstrate experience of working at senior management level with a proven track record of achieving targets whilst managing large multi-professional teams.
It is essential that you evidence experience of HR management, budgetary management, performance and information management and of planning and developing strategy as well as possessing excellent communication and organisational skills.
Main duties of the job
As DirectorateManager for Pharmacy you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of theoperational area across all hospital sites and will possess a strong ability tobuild successful teams whilst influencing and motivating staff to deliverchallenging targets through times of change.You will need to be business focused with an ability to analyse andpresent complex data whilst being sensitive to clinical and political demandsboth within and out-with the organisation.
Within theDirectorate structure you will work closely with the Chief Pharmacist todevelop and deliver the Directorates strategy in line with the Trust strategy,and you will need to be an innovator who can use both qualitative andquantitative information to drive improvements for patients and theorganisation.
The provision ofquality, safe and effective patient care is paramount and alongside the ChiefPharmacist, you will be expected to support clinicians to deliver improvedoutcomes for patients through robust performance management, effective riskmanagement strategies within a strong clinical governance framework and thepromotion of a positive, learning culture in which staff are empowered to shareideas and drive progress.
