Description Job Title and Level Wraparound Play Worker (TA Level) Main Purpose of the Role The After School Play Worker at Mawnan CE VA Primary School will be responsible for providing a caring, secure, and engaging environment for primary school-aged children during the after-school hours. The role is crucial in supporting the school's vision of ensuring every child experiences "life in all its fullness" by offering a range of play-based activities and opportunities that nurture the children's physical, social, and intellectual development. The After School Play Worker will work closely with colleagues to create a stimulating and inclusive environment that aligns with the school's values of using "God-given gifts with pride" and "shining brightly" together. Key Responsibilities and Duties Providing a Caring and Secure Environment ● Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the after-school setting, maintaining high standards of supervision and accountability for their whereabouts. ● Organise and assist in a variety of indoor and outdoor play sessions, encouraging active participation and engagement. ● Provide first aid provision as needed and maintain appropriate health and safety standards, particularly during snack times. ● Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and their families, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Supporting Children's Learning and Development ● Engage with children's learning through play, offering appropriate levels of support and stimulation to cater to their individual needs and interests. ● Consult with children and involve them in the planning of activities, empowering them to contribute to the after-school programme. ● Supervise children during activities and assist in setting up the play space, including the movement of furniture and equipment. ● Contribute to the planning and preparation of resources, working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a diverse and enriching programme.
