Details about the role:
The role is Casual Cleaner Full Time Salary £23,656. This is a casual role with an actual Salary of £12.60 per hour (TMBC Grade A, Point 2). To start February or as soon as possible.
Trustees are seeking to appoint staff to work on a casual basis as a Cleaner to support schools across our Trust to cover absence. The role will cover undertaking cleaning duties, individually or as part of a team, the cleaning of a designated area(s) and ensure they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition. This will be carried out under the supervision of Site Manager / Caretaker within the premises to ensure high standards of premise care in accordance with cleaning specifications and current Health and Safety Legislation.
Casual cleaning staff will work under the direction of the school Site Manager / Caretaker and whilst on site will take part in maintaining the cleaning of a designated area of the Academy. You will:
1. Be responsible for cleaning certain parts of an Academy site as allocated by the Site Manager / Caretaker.
2. Use cleaning materials as instructed by the Site Manager / Caretaker.
3. Operate cleaning machinery in cleaning soft and hard surfaces e.g. vacuum cleaners and polishers.
4. Understand and follow cleaning schedules and instructions.
5. Carry out the following duties:
* Vacuum cleaning hard and soft floors;
* Spot cleaning spillages;
* Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass;
* Emptying and cleaning bins;
* Cleaning toilets, sinks and surrounds, and fixtures and fittings;
* Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces;
* Wiping and polishing and straightening furniture;
* Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets etc.;
* Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work;
* Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time;
* Ensuring that all defects/hazards are immediately reported to the Site Manager / Caretaker.
