Research and clinical trials are a very important part of the National Health Service. Everyday clinical trials investigating medicines are being run across the country which are working towards new and improved treatments for patients.
The Pharmacy Technician in Clinical Trials is an exciting role contributing to this invaluable work.
We are looking for a hard working and professional individual who has an interest in research as the objective of this role is to ensure the timely set up and effective maintenance of all clinical trials involving medicines at the Trust.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for supporting the clinical trials pharmacy team to provide a reliable and efficient pharmacy clinical trials service which meets the needs of our clinical trials patients in Bath and the surrounding areas, sponsors and also the many specialist research teams we work closely with across the Trust.
You will also actively engage with the Clinical Trials Pharmacist(s) to build and expand the clinical trials portfolio whilst ensuring compliance with International Conference on Harmonisation of Good Clinical Practice (ICHGCP), clinical trials regulations, the research governance framework and other relevant guidelines and policies.

Person Specification
Qualifications & training
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
* Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician
* BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent
* Member of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK)
Knowledge & Experience
* Broad experience as a Pharmacy Technician
* Excellent knowledge of therapeutic drug use in clinical situations gained by CPD
* Experience working in a clinical trials department
* Evidence of implementing change within a department or team.
