Summary
New opportunity based in Burton on the Wolds to join the team at Ohh Deer as an International Freight Forwarding Apprentice. The role will involve managing order processes, quality, customer expectations and compliance guidelines, along with managing inventory and controlling start to finish.
Wage
£12,480 to £22,308 a year
Salary will be age dependant and in line with increase from April 2025 + an additional 25p per hour. Entry into profit share after 6 months.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Raising orders for our wholesale customers on our system.
* Processing the necessary paperwork required for wholesale customers orders.
* Booking in delivery of wholesale orders.
* Goods In, receiving stock which has been delivered onto our system and putting away any available to be picked.
* Picking and packing orders.
* Arranging the shipping for orders going directly from our international suppliers, to our customers in the US.

* Select freight forwarding services based on customer requirements, taking into account country specific factors, delivery times and modes.
* Use generic or bespoke ICT systems in order to enter and monitor data on importing or exporting goods.
* Book, plan and monitor international shipments, using manual or ICT systems, in accordance with the rules and regulations that apply to that area of the world and to the goods consigned.
* Prepare a customs declaration to a national standard, or give custom clearance instructions to a third party.
* Use data systems to submit the information required by customs authorities as part of the management of the international movement of goods.
* Produce freight costings and invoices in line with Incoterms, customer profile or sales contract.
* Identify and source data from customers, systems or colleagues.
* Identify and resolve problems in line with responsibilities.
* Create and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external customers.
* Adapt communication based on the situation and the audience.
* Identify problems outside of limits of responsibility and escalate within company policy.
* Communicate in writing, preparing communications on technical matters.

Your training plan
• A progress review every 12 weeks with dedicated trainer assessor and line manager / workplace mentor.
• Observations and professional discussions with dedicated trainer assessor in the workplace & blended learning mode of delivery.
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
* 5 subjects including Maths, English and Science (grade C / 4 or equivalent)
