Senior Fabricator/Setter
Location: Automotive Retail Industry
Salary: £24,664.56 per annum with a salary review after probationary period
Type: Permanent role
As a Senior Fabricator Setter, you will have extensive knowledge of production processes and will be able to set up, programme, and carry out diagnostics. You will be required to train other operators to required standards and help achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity to meet customer expectations and requirements, optimising efficiency and maintaining operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Setting up all plant and machinery to works order in advance of operator becoming free
2. Check roots, work instructions, and SOPs are available and correct
3. Ensure operators are trained and risk assessed before embarking on task
4. Ensure operators are competent in all tasks
5. Ensure 1st off is correct and sign off works order
6. Ensure all instructions and tools are available for operators to make good parts
7. Ensure operator knows time to complete task
8. Ensure operator clocks onto the task correctly
9. Return to operator after planned time period to sign off last off
10. Report any issues and reasons why operators could not complete works order to correct time and required quality
11. Operate production equipment
12. Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and the machines
13. Report equipment faults to maintenance staff
14. Ensure parts are to the correct tolerances and meet customer and internal standards and specifications
15. Contribute to continuous improvement
16. Train/mentor less experienced operators

3. Able to train operators
4. Able to work on own initiative when necessary
5. Able to work in a safe manner
6. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and work standards
7. An eye for detail
8. Able to work with minimum supervision and to timescales
9. Ability to learn quickly
10. Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
11. Automotive / Aerospace experience
