An exceptional opportunity has arisen at a thriving all-through independent school in Fareham for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their committed teaching staff. The school is seeking a fully qualified teacher who holds QTS and has at least 6 months of teaching experience in the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English and contributing to the continued academic excellence of the school. You will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking English department committed to fostering a love of literature and language in all pupils.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in accordance with the departmental schemes of work and school policies.
* Create detailed lesson plans that cater to a range of learning abilities and styles.
* Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management to ensure a focused and respectful learning environment.
* Set and mark homework regularly, in line with the school's published timetable, providing constructive feedback to support pupil progress.
* Monitor and assess pupil's academic development, recording and reporting progress in a timely and effective manner.
* Contribute to the development of English curriculum resources and schemes of work.
* Engage fully in staff meetings, parent's evenings, CPD sessions, and wider school activities.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the academic and pastoral welfare of all students.
* Uphold the values and ethos of the school, maintaining professional relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Minimum Requirements:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Minimum of 6 months UK classroom experience, ideally in a similar school setting.
* Strong subject knowledge of English language and literature at KS3 and KS4.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive and reflective teaching style with a genuine enthusiasm for English education.
* A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the life of the school.
