Junior Analyst
AASC, Warrington
Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Home based with occasional travelling.
8 Month Fixed Term.
Salary: £29,500.00, plus Serco Benefits.
The Analytics and Performance team is a growing function within the AASC contract. The department will be responsible for producing accurate, current, and insightful Management information to provide all contractual, external and internal functional, performance and insight reporting. The team is also responsible for optimising service performance, driving adoption, effective business change, and ultimately helping to develop a data-driven organisation. This function is fundamental to the day-to-day operation of the AASC contract and is critical in understanding and improving the business operations. The Analytics and Performance team will work with Serco group IT and MI teams to understand business processes and requirements, identify constraints and opportunities, and recommend optimal solutions. This will include data design, data analysis, data reporting platforms, analytics platforms, knowledge management and reporting support services.
Main purpose:
To work with the Head of Analytics & Performance and senior analysts to provide clear, accurate and time-sensitive reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, and to test the development of the new MI and performance dashboards.
Main Accountabilities:
- Responsible for data analysis and production of regular MI and performance reporting ensuring accuracy within time-constraints.
- Build strong relationships with business and functional stakeholders.
- Support the Senior Analysts to understand reporting what, why and what-if scenarios.
- Support in the creation of easy to understand, interactive and intuitive dashboards and business reports.
- Demonstrate tools and data analytics subject matter expertise supporting in the development of guides, training videos, briefings, and presentations.
- Support the Power BI platform strategy including working with the wider business to test and feedback on development.
- Actively contribute to the success of colleagues and teams through collaboration, coaching and sharing expertise.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by constantly scanning/reviewing the market, attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
- Work with the Reporting Manager and Workflow Co-ordinator to ensure all deadlines and requests are met within timescale.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Ability to effectively communicate and present clear information updates across both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to manage and deliver a variety of priority tasks, prioritising own workload to meet specific timescales without prompt.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
- Work with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders to shape and test MI and performance reporting.
- Work in an Agile environment and continuously review the business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks · Some travel across sites will be required.
- Experienced in Excel (Essential).
- Knowledge of Power BI (Essential).
- Knowledge SQL (Non-Essential/Desirable).
- Knowledge of Minitab (Non-Essential/Desirable).
- Working knowledge of LEAN 6Sigma methodologies (Non-Essential/Desirable).
