Are you passionate about delivering exceptional service and making a real difference in your community? If so, Mid Sussex District Council is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Communities Business Support Team.
About the Role
We are seeking a team player who can make a difference to our Service; within which you’ll have an opportunity to gain experience across an extensive range of work.
As a Support Officer, you’ll be a vital member of the Communities Directorate, working alongside other Officers to deliver high-quality administrative and customer service support.
This role is perfect for someone with a strong eye for detail, and excellent IT and administrative skills.
Your role will involve:
1. Customer Service Enquiries and Communication – Triaging enquiries from members of the public, businesses, other local authorities, and business partners.
2. Administrative Support - Maintain and oversee the various Directorate databases, including data entry and document management, processing applications and referrals.
3. Financial Administration – Processing Purchase Orders, invoices, credit card transactions, & handling incoming payments.
4. Meeting Coordination and Support - Provide support to the directorate’s working groups and projects.

About You
You will have a professional attitude with a concern for accuracy, confidentiality and service.
1. A professional telephone manner and exceptional customer service skills.
2. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to deliver high standards of work.
3. Experience of using Microsoft packages and strong IT skills, with the ability to use various software platforms.
4. Able to operate effectively under pressure, and to plan, organise and prioritise workloads.
5. Prepared to undertake personal development, innovation and learning.
