About your new role
Weightmans is a top 40 ranked law firm and we are seeking an Inquest solicitor to join our expanding Regulatory Healthcare Advisory team. The Regulatory Healthcare Advisory team is very diverse, offering a broad range of expert advice to organisations and individuals in relation to health-based regulatory matters and proceedings. We have an enviable client base, from NHS Trusts to private healthcare providers and cover inquests, Court of Protection applications, Mental Health Tribunals and other regulatory challenges; including advising on and defending prosecutions by Care Quality Commission and providing advice on a wide range of other health and care issues such as consent and confidentiality, capacity and best interests and discharge processes.
The role will primarily focus on managing a caseload of inquest files for our various NHS clients, care homes and other organisations, and possibly some of the broader healthcare advisory work. With our diverse offering, inevitably there will be both the scope and need for our lawyers to be involved in work for clients outside of their core caseload.

This list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be expected to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role, as well as achieving the targets set by the firm and complying with the relevant policies and procedures.
