MSAT is the keeper of the body of knowledge associated with formulation, device components, analytical testing and manufacturing unit operations, creating the instruction set and ensuring manufacturing operations stay aligned with the registered process. The primary objective is to ensure manufacturing processes are capable, compliant, in control, continuously improved and aligned across Sites.
MSAT’s primary functions are to lead technology transfers, implement control strategies, provide technical process support across the product lifecycle, while implementing new products and new modalities for commercial products and product-related improvement programs within the GSK GSC perimeter.
Position Overview
Lead the Small Molecule Process Science Team, primarily the laboratory at Worthing as well as any additional facilities & capability identified within the Small Molecule envelope, focusing on delivering new or second generation synthetic biochemical/chemical processes and new technologies as well as delivering improvements to the existing supply chains based on biochemical transformations. Support the transfer of DS biochemical processes or SM synthetic chemical & physical processes and technologies from lab scale to GSC sites and/or external CMO partners.
For GSC product/process transfers, lead laboratory process scale-up/facility fit activities to facilitate late stage/commercial product transfers between lab and manufacturing facilities including executing any supporting process development, process characterisation, small scale validation, authoring the process development technical & regulatory documentation.
Evaluate new step changing technology platforms for GSK in partnership with R&D where appropriate. Lead development of study plans, execute laboratory work and analysis to evaluate and industrialise these technologies.
