Job summary The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day administration for the Cardiology department, including appointment bookings and maintaining waiting lists. This will involve taking responsibility of processing referrals and ensuring the accurate booking and recording of patient data. You will be required to co-ordinate patient details and keep up to date information on the status of these patients ensuring they meeting the 18 week referral to treatment guidelines. The post holder will also be required to provide other administrative support within Cardiology and the CTC as required to meet the demands of the service. Main duties of the job The post holder will take responsibility for: Ensuring all referrals are received and accurately recorded. Booking Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic, organising clinic listings and maintaining clinic templates. Co-ordinating the cath lab lists to ensure the smooth admission of elective and non-elective patients. Accurately maintaining the EPR waiting lists according to RTT guidelines and updating the team regularly on the waiting times. Booking patients into clinics and pre-assessments as required. Sending and receiving inter hospital transfers and arranging transport and/or interpreters. Answering phone calls and emails and transferring to the appropriate professional.
