Are you a Registered Nursing Associate looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are delighted to invite you to join our dynamic team within the ambulatory areas primarily at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
As the tertiary centre for paediatrics in the South West and South Wales, the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children provides specialist care for children from across the region. Within our ambulatory services, you’ll have the chance to work in various locations, including:
* Carousel, Rainforest, Fairground Outpatients, and Puzzle Wood (based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children)
* Seashore (located at Weston General Hospital)
* Clinics at St Michael’s Hospital and South Bristol Hospital

Main duties of the job
About the Role
The Ambulatory Team provides care across multiple specialities, giving you the chance to expand your skills in a variety of dynamic environments. Some samples of what we offer:
* Puzzle Wood is a small but versatile team supporting follow-up appointments, rapid access clinics, and "hot" clinics. It also manages six beds that accommodate therapies such as gastroenterology and rheumatology infusions, endocrine and metabolic tests, and food challenges.
* Carousel and Fairground see a high volume of patients from a wide variety of specialities, including general medicine, dermatology, respiratory, cardiology, and trauma and orthopaedics.
* Rainforest specialises in burns and plastics but also cares for patients with spinal, neuromuscular, and neurosurgical conditions.

Our Faculty of Children’s Nurse Education offers specific training for new recruits in paediatric care as well as numerous education events to facilitate professional development and practice performance covering many paediatric specialties. With Clinical Skills Facilitators, you’ll have the opportunity to undertake a bespoke package of learning that can be adapted to your experience and achieve both hospital and departmental competencies.

Qualifications & Training
* Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
* GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of caring for sick patients in a variety of settings – this could be as trainee
* Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
* Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code
* Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
* Understands requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
* Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
Skills and Abilities
* Good basic level of English language demonstrated through effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to solve problems and use initiative
* Ability to develop own clinical skills and a willingness to participate in continuing professional development
* Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
* Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft packages)
