Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:
o Processing invoices for both suppliers and customers, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
o Reviewing and reconciling accounts payable and receivable records, addressing any discrepancies in a proactive manner.
o Managing the collection of outstanding payments and assisting with any credit control functions as required.
2. Financial Reporting Support:
o Assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
o Preparing and posting journals for accruals, prepayments, and other routine financial transactions.
o Helping the finance team to compile key reports for management and ensuring that they are delivered on time.
3. Bank Reconciliations:
o Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and any discrepancies are investigated.
o Coordinating with other departments to ensure that payments are aligned with financial records.
4. Expense Processing and Reporting:
o Reviewing and processing employee expense claims, ensuring they comply with company policy.
5. Support for Month-End and Year-End Closing:
o Assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes, including posting transactions, reviewing balances, and preparing supporting documentation.
o Ensuring that all financial records are up-to-date and complete for audit purposes.
6. VAT and Tax Compliance:
o Assisting with VAT returns, ensuring that all transactions are correctly classified and compliant with tax regulations.
Profile
The successful candidate:
* Previous experience in an accounting role (ideally 1-2 years).
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
