We are currently seeking an experienced NPI Engineer for our client who are based in rural Cambridgeshire and close to Royston. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the introduction of new products, specifically focusing on Gas Sensors and Safety Instruments. The role
Working in close collaboration with cross functional teams you will ensure the seamless transition of products from development to production, maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
• Product development - Collaboration with R&D, Product Management and manufacturing teams to develop and introduce4 new gas sensors and safety instruments
• Project Management - leading NPI Projects, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met
• Process improvement - identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency including PFMEA’s
• Testing and Validation - overseeing the testing and validation of new products to ensure they all meet regulatory and performance standards
• Documentation - preparing and maintaining detailed documentation for all stages of product development and introduction
• Training – Providing training and support to production teams on new products and processes
• Problem Solving – Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for an issues that arise during the NPI process
• Compliance – Ensure all products comply with relevant industry standard and regulations
The Person
For this important role we are seeking someone with the following skills and attributes
• Ideally, educated to degree level on Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or relevant subject
• Previous experience within an NPI role and preferably within the Gas Sensor or a Safety Instrument related industry
• A strong understanding of Gas Sensor technologies and safety instruments would be highly desirable
• Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools is required
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbally with the ability to work identifying with cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
• A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Experience in hazardous location ATEX design and certification EN 60079- 11and experience of Design to SIL2 functional safety EN 61508 would be highly regarded with this role.
