Scantec Recruitment are working in partnership with an FMCG Manufacturer in North Lanarkshire to find a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their team. Multi Skilled with a strong Mechanical / Electrical skill set. This is a fantastic business, part of a wider food group with a great culture and rich heritage.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your role will be to carry out Electrical and Mechanical maintenance and repairs to ensure maximum plant availability whilst maintaining exceptionally high factory standards. You can assist in projects, installation and commissioning of equipment as appropriate.
Hours / Shifts:
Monday to Friday (Early & late rotation)
Week 1 - 5.30am - 1.45pm Mon-Thurs. 5.30am -12.30pm Friday
Week 2 - 1.15pm - 9.30pm Mon-Thurs, 12.15pm - 7.15pm Friday
Multi Skilled Engineer - Summary of core responsibilities:
1. Resolve electrical and mechanical plant failures as required
2. Comply with safe working practices at all times and report any safety concerns to the Maintenance Manager
3. Complete PPM according to the schedule and as directed by the Maintenance Manager
4. Complete line change-overs as efficiently as possible according to the production plan
5. Work closely with the hygiene team to strip and re-build plant to allow access for cleaning purposes
6. Assist in the compiling of and the completion of Engineering work requests in a timely manner
7. Assist as appropriate with the design, installation and commissioning of new equipment
8. Complete improvement projects on new and existing plant as directed by the Maintenance manager
9. Compile downtime reports post plant breakdowns
10. Complete hand-over documentation daily from shift to shift
Required Skills & Knowledge:
For this role we’re seeking an experienced Engineer / Multi Skilled Engineer with the appropriate electrical engineering qualifications (HND, HNC or equivalent). Preferably trained on 17th or 18th Edition wiring regs (although this is not essential).
Ideally you will be from a food or FMCG Manufacturing background with good analytical and root cause analysis.
