The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday.
An opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Registered Nurses in the Pre-Operative assessment service within the Outpatient department of Glasgow South Sector. The service covers Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Gartnavel General Hospital and Victoria Ambulatory Care Hospital. The Pre-operative assessment nurse is required to undertake comprehensive patient assessment, assist with anaesthetic assessments and provide patient education. The post holder will support nurse learners and HCSW’s.
Experience in a surgical or theatre setting is desirable but not essential. You must have excellent communication skills and a desire to further develop knowledge within the Pre-operative assessment role. You will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse and should be able to work on your own merit supported by the wider nursing team. You should hold current registration with the NMC and be educated to degree level or equivalent.
