The University of Strathclyde is currently engaged in a major strategic project to migrate the University’s Financial Management Systems to a cloud platform.
Working closely with the Project Manager, the successful candidate will provide wide-ranging support to the project team. Your main duties will be to provide exceptional administrative and organisational service delivery to a broad range of activities in support of the project; this will involve organising meetings and workshops; coordinating diaries; preparing formal papers for meetings; note-taking and production of formal minutes; and mailbox administration.
You will have relevant experience of working effectively within a busy team environment, in which you will have faced changing and competing demands, and you will have a proven ability to be adaptable and a quick-learner. You will be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and must show that you are fully aware how to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
You will have excellent IT skills including an expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on MS Word) and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding and appreciation of the criticality of effective business systems. You should be able and confident to absorb discussion points of a technical nature and to capture these succinctly, in easily digestible terms.
This will be a varied role involving regular communication with senior business stakeholders and senior academic staff, as well as departmental staff and third-party contacts. Therefore, an ability to communicate effectively in a friendly and helpful manner is an essential requirement of the post.
It is imperative that you are able to multi-task and work well under pressure by applying your strong organisational skills. A relevant HNC would be beneficial and evidence of previous administrative support experience is essential. Ideally, you will have an understanding of monitoring budgets, as you will support the project manager in keeping track of finances. Experience of working within a project role and/or Higher Education context would be beneficial.
Based in the University’s Programme Management Office, in the Continuous Improvement Directorate, you will be part of a team managing a range of business change and technological projects to support the implementation of our new Digital Strategy for 2030.
The post is offered on a full-time basis (35 hours a week). Hours may be worked on a flexible basis, usually with a combination of home and campus working, in line with the University’s Agile Working Policy. All successful candidates must be willing to be located in the UK.
