The role
The Missing from Home Project Worker role is to support Tameside with ensuring that young people who go missing are independently interviewed within 72 hours of notification. The service is central to Tameside’s strategy to safeguard young people from harm and vulnerability. We are looking for a committed individual who can successfully engage young people, and is comfortable working in close collaboration with statutory partners. You will be joining our dynamic, ambitious team, providing a key role in engaging young people often for the first time. Young people are listened to carefully and safety plans developed to help eliminate the risks of going missing alongside strategies to steer them on a brighter path.
We aim to reduce the numbers of missing episodes and prevent potential harm.You will also attend statutory meetings when needed and the monthly missing from home panel meeting in order to give updates of those young people that frequently go missing.
The service operates within a wider framework of a contextual safeguarding provision in Tameside.
