Our client, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, is looking to appoint a Head of Technical responsible for the reliable, efficient, and compliant operation of the Technical Department (Manufacturing, Packaging, and Artwork). The role ensures routine GMP compliance and operational efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity as the company plans to expand its portfolio and premises to accommodate more manufacturing and packaging lines.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in Technology: Ensure a scientific approach in developing and managing changes in packaging materials, product formulation, manufacturing, and cleaning processes.
Technical Operational Effectiveness: Oversee initiatives that guarantee effective artwork, packaging, and manufacturing operations, including batch record generation, supplier management, and process monitoring.
Operational Leadership: Collaborate with the operational leadership team to ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective production.
EDCS Effectiveness: Support strategic technology interfaces across sites and functions to ensure effective product development, registration, and supply.
General Responsibilities include maintaining safety, quality, customer satisfaction, cost control, and innovation, adhering to GMP and industry standards, and fostering continuous improvement.
This role involves working with various internal and external stakeholders, including operational teams, regulatory bodies, suppliers, and global manufacturing networks.
Departmental Management: Responsible for health and safety compliance, GMP adherence, audit readiness, SOP implementation, staff training, budget and headcount planning, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Expertise in Packaging, Material Science & Product Formulation: Lead development and validation of processes, manage changes, support regulatory filings, and explore new technologies.
Operational Effectiveness: Lead manufacturing and packaging operations, manage quality trends, change management, CAPA, root cause analysis, and supply chain support.
Skills and Qualifications include leadership experience, pharmaceutical industry knowledge, technical writing, change management, familiarity with MHRA/EMA/FDA guidance, team motivation, communication skills, problem-solving, prioritization, and continuous self-development.
