Job Description
The brief
We are recruiting an artist(s), a creative practitioner, an arts collective, a curator, or an arts organisation to work with young people in the Imaan Youth Club to co-create an immersive experience in a venue/location that will be determined by the successful candidate(s), representatives from the Imaan Youth Club and Reimagine Redditch.
The successful candidate(s) will have a socially engaged practice to co-create and co-produce the final event, which achieves the following aims:
1. Educational: to raise awareness of bees, grounded in the teaching of Surah an-Nahl, and to explore the importance of bees in the Quran and to the environment.
2. Community: to bring together Redditch communities to celebrate the talents and creativity of young Muslims in Redditch.
3. Environment: to inspire young people in Redditch to support the bee ecosystem and positively impact the environment.
We are open to applications from artist(s), creative practitioners, arts collectives, curators, and arts organisations from a range of arts disciplines and from a range of approaches. The implemented vision will be inclusive, reflect and celebrate the talents of the Muslim young people and put this work in conversations with the wider Redditch community.
Job Requirements
Objectives of the project
Bee Creative is a 6-month-long creative project for the Imaan Youth Group, Redditch. The project has 3 aims for the community:
1. New experiences for young people and volunteers to work with creatives
2. Exploring creative practice which can be embedded in their youth curriculum
3. Developing volunteers commissioning and co-creating skills.
The artist(s), creative practitioner, arts collective, curator or arts organisation will be provided office space at Reimagine Redditch's office in The Kingfisher Shopping Centre and will deliver workshops weekly on Saturdays from The Sandycroft Centre in Smallwood, Redditch.

As outlined in the Job Description and Job Requirements and to be discussed further with the project producer Fateha.

Your proposal should consist of no more than three A4 pages and should include:
● your contact details.
● how you would approach this commission, including how your vision meets the project’s values.
● a budget breakdown, including artist fee and budget allocated for production and installation costs.
● an explanation of what co-creation means to you and relevant experience of delivering co-creation projects.
● demonstrable experience and understanding of working with Muslim communities.
● demonstrable experience and skill in delivering a sustained arts project with young people.
● confirmation that you will be prepared to complete a method statement and risk assessment before starting work.
● DBS certificate no less than two years old or prepared to undertake a new DBS check.
Reimagine Redditch is an Arts Council England-funded Creative People & Places programme. It co-creates creative activities with Redditch people.
