We are working with a large public body to recruit a dedicated ICT Support Officer to join their team. Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and implementing operating systems, applications, and software updates. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in IT support and administration, particularly within a Microsoft-based IT estate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Configuring, managing, and troubleshooting the IT hardware estate, including desktops, laptops, MFDs, scanners, servers, and communication devices.
2. Assisting in managing the server estate across all networks and providing Microsoft Active Directory NW account management.
3. Contributing to the creation and management of group policy settings, preparing IT health checks, and implementing recommendations.
4. Handling ICT security issues, delivering IT helpdesk support, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and participating in project teams and working groups.
Essential Criteria
1. Must have attained a HND or equivalent in an ICT-related discipline.
2. At least 2 years of IT experience supporting and administrating a Microsoft-based IT estate within an organization of approximately 100 staff members.
3. Demonstrable knowledge of configuring and managing ICT system security products, such as firewalls, anti-virus products, endpoint protection applications, and software patch management.
4. Experience with the implementation, configuration, and system administration of a Windows 2016 and above Active Directory-based network domain.
This role will be based in Belfast 5 days on site; however, there is a flexible working policy on request. Although the role is initially for a contract, there is a high possibility of extension.
