The Head of Undergraduate Applications (academic) will provide leadership for the University Ready team including line management. University Ready is our specialist undergraduate application module which focusses on supporting students to achieve their university progression goals. The Head will contribute to the delivery of excellent student outcomes, quality assurance, enhancement and innovation in our University Ready provision. The Head will help design the University Ready Program activity and teaching resources; support and monitor students’ progress towards their progression targets, and work to achieve Study Group’s strategic vision of being a global leader in international education. The Head will also lead on the Program Personal Tutorials to ensure students are on-track in the Program or require intervention support. The candidate will have extensive experience in successfully coaching students for USA undergraduate applications including for Ivy League study destinations. The candidate may also be familiar with undergraduate application activities in the UK, Ireland etc. ABOUT THE ROLE Contribute to Study Group’s strategic vision and growth through development of the Program Communicate our vision to drive forward continuous improvement in the Program University Ready modules and Program Tutorials to achieve the aspirational targets for student outcomes. Contribute to planning and development including human resources; academic development; learning, teaching, and assessment; and academic quality assurance and enhancement, in the Program University Ready modules and Program Tutorials. Participate in Program meetings and events as required Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and identify appropriate actions to solve problems and enhance delivery within the Program, University Ready modules and Tutorials. Line Manage Program University Ready and Program Tutorials tutors Provide effective and efficient academic management and co-ordination of Program University Ready and Program Tutorials staff resources. Ensure the recruitment of staff is planned, timely and compliant. Ensure that the Program University Ready modules and Program Tutorials teams meet all minimum expectations/compliance in their duties and provide feedback on their performance. Take responsibility for academic standards, the quality of learning opportunities, the accuracy and completeness of published information in the Program University Ready modules and Program Tutorials Oversee the effective operation of the Program University Ready modules and Program Tutorials Oversee University Ready modules’ and Program Tutorials’ student tracking and data analytics and ensure quality of feedback to students. Contribute to analysing data and feedback from the Program University Ready modules and Program Tutorials. Contribute to reports, analysis and evaluation for all internal and external scrutiny processes as directed by the Program Director Gather and report feedback from Program University Ready and Program Tutorials tutors for action ABOUT YOU A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline, a Master’s or higher degree is desirable. A recognised Teaching or Guidance Counselling Qualification (desirable) Teaching experience within high school or similar contexts University undergraduate application consulting/coaching experience within high school or similar contexts including for Ivy League destinations in the USA (essential) Knowledge of undergraduate application requirements and timelines in other non-USA destinations (desirable) Experience in providing leadership with evidence of success. Experience in providing feedback to another person about their performance, which achieved a positive improvement. Ability to delegate activities set deadlines and take responsibility for overseeing their successful completion to meet challenging deadlines. Experience working with international students with a knowledge of their application needs (desirable) Experience in data management interpretation, and quality assurance. Experience in leading, advising or supporting others to develop curricula.
