We’re looking for a Security Shift Second in Command (2IC) to join our team, a role that combines leadership, security expertise, and strategic thinking. The 2IC will be responsible for assisting the Shift Manager in managing all security personnel in relation to the day-to-day operational issues impacting on the contract throughout their shift. The 2IC will be the nominated training lead on the shift and will have responsibility for ensuring all staff complete mandatory training as well as delivering induction training and updating training matrices. In the absence of the Shift Manager, the 2IC will provide a central point of contact for service delivery development, performance, measurement and centralised reporting which fully demonstrates the Securitas values of Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness. This position is key to the operational success of the Team and is required to strengthen the relationship between the client and Securitas by ensuring. operational Supervision on a 24/7 basis. Key Responsibilities · Plan, coordinate and organise shift training · Update training matrix for shift · Deliver induction training to all new employees · Deliver refresher training to shift, as dictated in the site training policy · Liaise with Operational Support and Training Department to organise all SIA top up training for their shift · Collate weekly, monthly, bi annual and annual reports for Shift Manager, to support resource · Ensure all Focus Topics are completed monthly · Ensure mandatory learning is completed. · Supervise and support the management and planning of resources · Assist with shift briefing · Assume the role of Shift Manager in the absence of a Shift Manager · Any other tasks allocated by Service Delivery Manager/ Shift Manager Competencies Managing and Leading Others Leads, develops and fosters a culture of high performance in line with Securitas Core Values Manages Self Manages time effectively and prioritises against urgency and importance Decision Making Prepared to make tough decisions considering risks to meet operational needs and demands to of the business Communication Skills Maintains an approachable demeanour and is visibly engaged with the team Operational Excellence : Monitors and maintains quality and productivity with a focus on high standards Customer Focus Maintains a positive customer relationship, is seen as an ambassador for the Securitas brand Relationship Building & Networking Supports Shift Manager / Service Delivery Manager in developing a strong, area-based network and participates in sharing of best practice Person Specification Minimum Required Current SIA licence: Door Supervisor and CCTV Have a full 5 year checkable work history Competent in MS Word, Excel and E-Mail (Outlook) Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills. Able to negotiate and deal with sensitive and confidential matters with tact and discretion Adaptable and responsive in the face of changes in priorities, plans and schedules.
