We are currently looking for a talented and highly motivated Technical Manager to join our Land Quality (Scotland) Team in Sweco s Energy, Water & Environment Division. This is an exciting opportunity for an established geo-environmental technical expert to lead project teams and contribute to business development for new and existing public and private sector clients across the region. They will work in collaboration with our UK-wide established land quality and geo-environmental teams, seeking to develop and grow the existing Edinburgh based team. Our Land Quality team delivers a range of services relating to the identification, risk assessment and remediation of contaminated land. We support our clients in delivering robust evaluations of ground and water quality to manage their environmental liabilities, plan future investment and realise asset value. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and supporting our business development to maintain our existing pipeline of land regeneration and multi-disciplinary infrastructure development schemes whilst enhancing our team's presence in key UK sectors, including; energy, water, and sustainability. What does the role involve? Leading the technical delivery of land quality/geo-environmental projects. Mentoring and developing the growing team. Supporting work winning across the UK in collaboration with other Sweco teams. Contributing to setting the strategy for the growth of the team and delivering it. Working closely with other teams in Sweco UK to successfully manage resources and ensure technical excellence. To be successful in this role you ll possess: Core knowledge with respect to Health, Safety & Environmental aspects on projects. A strong technical background with a minimum of 15 years experience in the geoenvironmental industry with of a track record in successful project delivery. The ability to lead the work undertaken by your technical discipline. Experience and competence to act as Project Manager on complex projects. Competence in drawing up contracts and management of supply chain. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience of bid and work winning activity. Previous team management experience (desirable). The ability to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors. Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions. Full clean driving licence with a willingness to travel to meet and support our teams and clients across the UK. Degree level qualified in Geology, Hydrogeology, Civil/Environmental Engineering or another related subject. MSc level qualified in a relevant field (preferable). Chartership or recognised accreditation through a relevant professional body (CGeol, CEng).
