General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our Manufacturing Team, based in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £34,400 to £43,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally. Joining an established team, you will work across a range of stakeholders with a focus on fixing internal workmanship quality issues identified in during acceptance testing. If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:
* Review production shift notes to collect Quality concerns
* Attend daily Internal Quality meetings to collect Quality concerns
* Review Internal Quality concerns from Shakedown, JAG and shift reports, investigate causes, provide updates on containment and permenant corrective actions at next daily meeting
* Support Functional failure investigations (QE team lead)
* Support MRB projects to help fix high hurts to business (QE team lead)
* Collect data and graph non-conformancies - Provide charts to show trends over time.
* Identify Terrible Top Ten workmanship issues by repair time duration and frequency of occurrence
* Collect snags from End of Line Audits and separate them by station. Communicate to Manager/Supervisors and print results to post on station boards for SOS meetings.
* Results of weekly EOL reports to be collected to identify trends to be reported on monthly and investigated
Proven experience working with Manufacturing Assembly and Test processes (AFV Ajax Family vehicle experience preferred)
* Experience of low volume & high value (vehicle or similar) production.
* A working understanding of two & three dimensional CAD tools is desireable
* Significant experience/background in a Process/Manufacturing Engineering role
* Good working knowledge of generating and maintaining Work Instructions that provide clear and concise instruction for Repeatable and accurate results.
* RCCA investigation
* Possess a Degree, HNC or equivalent (vocational experience) in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
* Experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer covering Mechanical/Electrical assemblies, Disability Confident
