The Brush Plating Technician will report to the Production Manager and perform electrochemical brush plating of customer owned and sample parts for production, OEM, repair or refurbishment. Work is carried out in house or at customers designated location in a professional and timely manner.
Tasks
* Performs plating work utilising appropriate equipment and solutions as defined by the company process.
* Performs plating activities as necessary to meet customer requirements either in house or at customer premises with occasional overnight stay as and when required.
* Adheres to all plating instructions as detailed on the route card, customer drawings, customer specifications and/or verbal instructions.
* Assists in preparing accurate costs for the quoting process.
* Assist Sales team to help resolve customer technical questions.
* Designs and makes tooling and fixtures to facilitate efficient and effective plating.
* Maintains work area to a high standard of cleanliness ensuring it confirms to the Health & Safety requirements and to assure safe and clean work environment.
* Follows all company policies, department procedures and job specific work instructions.
* Establishes and maintains positive and professional customer relations when interacting with customer representatives.
* Travels as required to meet customer delivery expectations.
Requirements
Essential:
* Ability to read, analyse and interpret a variety of instructions given verbally or written including diagrams, blueprints, technical drawings, scope of work documents and quality specification and standards.
* Ability to read and use quality control gauging, micrometers, callipers, ball gauges and dial indicators
Desirable:
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists
* Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and repair
* An awareness of Health and Safety regulations is required
