As a Technologist / Animal Technician you will deliver a range of regulated procedures and science-based competencies to support a variety of in vivo studies, whilst ensuring high standards of animal health and welfare. You will provide technical, husbandry and welfare support, including breeding Genetically Altered and Transgenic animals. Continuous Personal Development and training will be provided to support this position. Your role will involve matrix working with other in vivo scientists and researchers across therapy areas to focus on our mission of delivering medicines to patients. * Be responsible for daily provision of high standards of animal care and welfare ensuring that all work is performed in an ethical and considerate manner.
* Carry out routine husbandry and housekeeping, with focus on maintaining animal health barrier and upkeep of the vivarium.
* Carry out regulated procedures for the delivery on in-vivo studies, breeding, genotyping and maintenance of Genetically Altered Transgenic animals.
* Support Hygiene area, using equipment such as Autoclaves, Rack washers and UV chambers to process equipment - full training will be given.
* Maintain data and records within dedicated facility software and electronic systems.
* Ensure that all Health and Safety regulations and company policies are adhered to.

Minimum Skills:
* You have experience and passion for animal care and welfare.
* Minimum of five GCSE's (or equivalent) including English, Math's and Science. Ideally a relevant Level 3 National qualification or equivalent e.g. Veterinary Nursing Diploma, Diploma in Laboratory Animal Science, Science based A-levels.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Able to demonstrate an ability for Continuous Personal Development (CPD)
* Excellent teamwork, communication and IT skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Ideally hold a UK Home Office Personal License (PIL A, PIL B and preferably PIL C) or have held a Personal license within the past 5 years.
* Experience of conducting regulated procedures with broad competency-based skill set.
* Proven understanding of breeding Genetically Altered Animals.
