Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Service Technician/Repair Engineer to join our Team based in London. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out planned lift repairs and contractual works as well as works quoted outside the service contract. Responsibilities will include a range of repair works from minor repairs to larger refurb and upgrade works, both individually and within a team as needed. They will also be responsible for completing Schindler safety inspections and closing any open non-conformities to current legislation or standards, adhering to all company safety and conduct procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Carry out repairs, small modifications, major repairs, minor works, and routine replacement of components.
* Typical repairs include roping, divertor changes, motor changes, safety edges, autodial units, brake shoes, etc.
* Work as per company RAMs and procedures.
* Check the lift function as part of repair works, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise temperature, and power supply using approved company-issued tooling and protective equipment.
* Report additional works needed and general condition of the lift.
* Carry out routine inspection service visits.
* Complete all paperwork and maintain accurate records for works completion and invoicing.
* Comply with established Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements.
* Set a personal example of safe behavior at all times.
* Contribute to the Company safety objectives by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under direct control and implementing agreed changes to Schindler Ltd occupational health and safety management system.
* Attend all relevant training sessions.
* Carry out all works in accordance with the Company’s Quality Corporate Policy.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience in Lift Servicing/Maintenance/Repairs preferred (min 2 years).
* Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift maintenance.
* The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; flexibility required.
* Good problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
* Manual dexterity required for repetitive lifting and use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and record written information.
* Expert fault finding and diagnostic skills – ‘go to person’.
* Good administration skills and holds a full UK Driving Licence.
